The NAJ organises and supports a number of competitions that provide a great opportunity for industry businesses to showcase their products on a national scale. Our competitions recognise new talent in a wide range of fields, including cutting-edge design and exceptional customer service, as well as retail and supply.

The Bright Young Gems initiative, is the leading industry-recognized platform for fresh talent from final year students and students from UK colleges and universities who graduated within the last two years. Many prior winners going on to carve out highly successful award-winning careers.

JET Awards

Every month, Clarity & Success, honours a JET student with the JET Certificate project of the month. Nominations are made by course tutors, and the winner is chosen by an external moderator. The individual is awarded a certificate, is acknowledged in the Jeweller, and is invited to the NAJ Education Awards.

GCDC Craftsmanship & Design Awards

The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GC&DC), which operates the competition, actively encourages established craftspersons and designers in the industry, as well as apprentices and students to enter their work. This unique annual competition rewards excellence in technical skills and creative design in precious metals and related materials.

David Wilkins Awards 

David Wilkins AWARD 

In honour of David Wilkins (1931-1994), former Chairman of the National Association of Goldsmiths Valuations Committee (the NAJ's predecessor), the National Committee of the National Association of Jewellers may award the David Wilkins Trophy if an IRV has demonstrated outstanding skill, dedication or service in respect of jewellery appraisal and valuation.
